GARS25 Online, Call for Papers
This GARS workshop will conducted purely online! The Call for Papers is attached below.
The topic is inspired by this year's European Aviation Conference (EAC25) hosted by our good colleagues and friends at Lazarski University in Warsaw (Poland). We hope that many colleagues from Central and Eastern European countries will join the online workshop and also come to Warsaw (the EAC25 Research Day would be a great opportunity to present in person). There is much to learn because the growth dynamics (for air cargo, please check: https://lnkd.in/g-TQ2xgJ) and attitudes towards aviation seem quite different in Central and Eastern Europe compared to what one experiences today in Western European countries!
The so-called new hub for Poland (https://lnkd.in/g5iXuRXh) integrates air transport and high-speed rail services. China is the home of the largest high-speed network in the world (by far). Many studies have analyzed the rivalry and complementarity of air transport and high-speed rail services in China. Dr. Yulai Sarah Wan is one of the leading experts in this area. She kindly agreed to give a keynote talk at the GARS25 Online workshop!

EAC25 Research Day, Call for Papers and Posters
The European Aviation Conference (EAC) invites academics, aviation practitioners, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to submit their research for EAC Research Day.

EAC25 in Warsaw (Poland)
Relative to pre-Covid levels, the aviation sector in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) has recovered much better than in Western Europe. For a recent discussion of air cargo in CEE, check the following podcast. The low-cost sector has played an important role in this growth; however, geopolitics and aviation policy may create new challenges or opportunities that either threaten or support the European air transport industry. The topic of the 2025 European Aviation Conference (EAC25) is:
“Looking East: Aviation Policy, Geopolitics and Business Strategy in Eastern Europe”
The EAC25 will be hosted by the Lazarski University based in Warsaw (Poland). The place is well chosen because the main theme of the EAC25 will be the aviation markets in the Central and Eastern European countries, also in the context of Asian aviation markets being the most dynamic across the globe.
As has become a tradition of EAC conferences, the EAC25 will cover economic, business and legal issues of both passenger and cargo markets. It will bring academic researchers, industry representatives and regulatory agencies together so that they can jointly further the understanding of management, economic, and policy aspects of the aviation industry.
Anna Konert is the Director Lazarski Aviation Academy and Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration:
“I am very happy to host all the participants of next year’s European Aviation Conference. We are the only center in Poland thatvery closely combines legal and business studies with the aviation industry. We have partnerships with IATA and ICAO, of which we are an accredited training center“
